Mud Dredging Process in Sentiong River has Reached 95 Percent

The settlements along the river are no longer flooded when it rains

The mud dredging process in Sentiong River, Johar Baru, Central Jakarta has touched 95 percent.

Central Jakarta Acting Mayor Irwandi said, mud dredging had been ongoing since October 2019 and is targeted to be complete by the end of January 2021.

"The settlements along the river are no longer flooded when it rains," he told, Friday (1/15).

He told, the water downstream is already flowing fast as the river had been dredged. Thus there are no more blockages that cause water to overflow.

"Despite the rainfall is not high, we believe it is able to overcome flooding that often occurs in local residents," he stated.
